Adrienne - A Top for Every Woman!

At Paper People we're known for our statement pieces.  Eclectic items we put together with just the right combination of tones, textures and patterns.  So after much pondering and soliciting of feedback we realized that what people need is something fun but basic to go with those our signature reclaimed vintage line.

The Adrienne Cowl Top is perfect for this reason. The feminine bust seaming and cowl neck ensure that this basic top is simple but not boring.  The shape is contoured to a woman's curves but not tight or clingy.  The super soft tencel fabric has a slight sheen making it appropriate for work and dressy occasions as well.  And in keeping with our philosophy, tencel is gentle on the environment.  Made from wood pulp, the trees are harvested from plantations that engage in sustainable agricultural practices.  The fibres are processed in a closed loop system where the solvent is recycled continuously reducing pollution.

Siv goes for a classic, clean cut look.  She pairs her bold red Adrienne Top with black skinny jeans, a wrap belt and matching flats.

Sam is all ready for work.  The warm coral colour is perfect for her skin tone and she pairs her Adrienne with a bamboo blazer by Miik (one of her favourite Canadian brands) and funky wide legged dress pants.

Jenn goes for her signature boho chic look.  She loves layering but keeping things light enough for spring is a challenge.  She picks one of her favourite skinny lace scarves and a necklace she crocheted herself.  She pairs the top with her favourite maxi skirt.  The skirt is sometimes hard to wear because it's so busy, so the simple Adrienne is the perfect solution!

No matter what your personal style or wardrobe needs are, the Adrienne has you covered.  Available this season in: brown, coral, grey, pink, purple and red, we have something for every skin tone.

Glorious in Gloria

At Paper People we love layering!  Is there anything more satisfying than finding the perfect little cardigan to go with your favourite summer dress?  And who doesn't need a little something to spice up their t-shirt and jeans?

The Gloria Cardigan is made from reclaimed cotton sweaters with a beautiful bow accent from reclaimed silk blouses.  The loose 3/4 sleeves keep you warm and covered while the deep V shows off that beautiful dress you don't want to keep hidden.

Jenn pairs her Gloria with a tank top and jeans.  She loves feminine details and this sweet little cardigan is perfect with her floral tapestry Frances Purse and lacy flats.

Sam can't wait to wear her favourite sleeveless Lilikoi Dress, but it's not quite warm enough yet.  She likes to keep things interesting by combining lots of fun colours and patterns so she chooses the Gloria in a bright, punchy coral along with the Frances Purse in purple plaid.

Siv is planning her outfit for an upcoming summer wedding but if it gets chilly out in the evening she's prepared.  She pulls the reds from her floral print dress and picks a matching Gloria Cardigan.  The silk bow makes it dressy enough for formal occasion like this.

And the best part of all?  Each piece is one of a kind - just as unique as the woman who wears it.  So don't bring your best friend along unless she wears a different size!

Brenda Shirt Dress

This spring we bring to you every eco-fashion lover's dream, the Brenda Shirt Dress.  A perfect balance of new and old, each dress is made from a reclaimed men's dress shirt paired with a hemp/organic cotton blend skirt.  Plaids, stripes, checks, you name it - we found it, and have made them into one of a kind summer dresses!

Head designer, Jenn, loves wearing hers on her busy days that are filled with meetings and running around the city!  She chooses dark, rich jewel tones that transition from spring to fall with ease.

Siv is excited for the sun to shine and the good summer weather to hit, so that she can wear her Brenda dress out for a sunny brunch in the city.  Easily paired with her neutral sandals, this style says comfort and class!
Don't forget you can always accessorize!  Sam belts hers at the waist with her favourite leather belt from a Montreal designer.  This is an easy way to jazz up this look, and we suggest you give it a try!
The shape truly flatters any figure type.  The a-line skirt accommodates those with more or less hips and the bust tucks work for both chesty and petite types.
